Sustainability

Wandsworth Council implements several measures to ensure Battersea Park Fireworks continues to be a sustainable event for 2025.

Two people in warm clothing and hats stand in front of colorful festive lights at night, with industrial chimneys visible in the background.

We’ll be tracking our Carbon footprint throughout the event, finding as many ways as possible to reduce our footprint, and mitigate our emissions. Our Fireworks provider Titanium Fireworks partner with a UK tree planting scheme to offset the footprint of all explosives and their journey to the event.

As part of our strategy to help us reduce waste and increase recycling, we are working with suppliers to ensure all waste is sorted and nothing will be going to landfill.

There will be no single-use plastic issued on site. We are committed to tackling our energy use and fuel consumption by reducing our reliance on generators and utilising permanent park electricity sources wherever possible.

As part of our commitment to reduce our environmental impact, we also heavily encourage all guests to travel by foot, bike or public transport to the event where possible. There will be bike racks available by Albert Gate for personal-use bikes only.

There are also small changes that guests can make, to help reduce our collective environmental impact. We would love for you to consider how you can do your part also. A few ways could be to consider walking, cycling or getting a train to the event and ensuring all on-site litter is put in our dedicated nothing-to-landfill bins. There’s also no need to print out your tickets, as these can be scanned electronically.

FUTURE LEARNING

Each year we look at new ways to improve our event and its impact on the planet. One of the ways we seek feedback is through our post-event survey. Building on last year’s learnings, we will be including even more questions around our sustainability and how we can improve the event’s carbon footprint for future years.
